Who Is God? Part-Three
Thank You, God, You Are So Amazing!
Eileen Renders
In reflection of my life, and most likely your own, we often do not realize how God has protected, taught, and led us through this journey we know as life. An example may be those times, however, when we are reminded of God working through us, and in us through the words of a friend, family member, or coworker.
Unexpected words come to us often by way of a compliment, or someone praising our efforts, abilities, successes, and more. Surprised, we do not know how to respond. Most likely, this is because we do not feel that we have done anything special, or out of the ordinary, therefore not deserving of their compliment.
Afterward, this sincere compliment given to us may be taken into sincere consideration, as we spend time alone in contemplation. in contemplation, we might suddenly realize what may have triggered such a huge compliment. These people, friends, and family, were most likely watching, listening, and witnessing our energy, and efforts come to fruition. We know that the compliments we received were not due to high intellect, or high energy, for we know that it is God leading, and guiding us whenever we desire to service to Him.
We can do nothing without God. And we do nothing of value without God rewarding our efforts. Therefore, it is by the grace of God, that we bring a soul closer to Him. This is indeed pleasing to God as He desires to save souls. We are saved only through the grace of God.
Truly, we cannot accept many of the compliments we receive with a proud sense of ability, or achievement that we should be proud of, but with a sense of humility that God has chosen us to work in serving Him. When we are in God as God is in us, He leads, guides, strengthens, and blesses us so that we will accomplish what it is, that God has assigned to us. He alone deserves all glory and honor. We all must understand how He works through those who love and obey Him. Be not proud lest we lose the humility that God so loves.
We might take that compliment and say; “Thank you God for allowing me the joy of knowing that I may be pleasing to you.” In becoming ever watchful over the temptation to be proud we lose what God once found pleasing in us.
Giving back to God what is due Him is just another way of keeping ourselves in check. We do know how the Evil One preys on each of us as often as possible, especially when we are close to God. Satan wants to steal our souls through pride, selfishness, lack of empathy, and lying even to ourselves. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and give unto God what is God’s.
