What to look for in a wife or husband
Don’t denigrate marriage.
So, as I’m writing this, the news is that Ukraine invaded the Ukrainian region of Kursk. Of course, since I’m a vatnik or an Orthobro (What is an Orthobro)? I understand that Ukraine has the right to self-defense.
But, this isn’t what I want to talk about. What I want to talk about is this weird hatred of marriage. If God hates divorce “

“For I hate divorce, says the LORD the God of Israel, and covering one’s garment with violence, says the LORD of hosts. So take heed to yourselves and do not be faithless”.
(Malachi 2:16),
It then logically follows that he loves marriage.
In fact, I’d argue that Jesus cements this fact.
I’ve heard awful arguments (even from priests) that Jesus doesn’t say marriage is between one man and one woman. 1) It is, 2) Why are heterosexuals treating it like something un-serious?
Jesus says that very thing about it being, not only between one man and one woman, but that it's permanent.
“And he left there and went to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan, and crowds gathered to him again; and again, as his custom was, he taught them.
And Pharisees came and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife”?
He answered them “What did Moses command you”?
They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce, and put her away”.
But Jesus said to them, “for the hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them, male and female’.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
And the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder”.
And in the house, the disciples asked him again about this matter.
And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery”.
Mark 10:1-12
If God takes marriage seriously, why don’t we?
