What Happened to Best Lent Ever?!
Going to Mass today? Why? Becuase it is Sunday and you HAVE TOO?
Let us ask this question. When you go to a party to celebrate an occasion; do you smile, laugh, sing, dance: well you have an awesome time. we hope!
Now, when we go to Mass, are we smiling, are we glad? Do we enter into His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts? Do we enter into His courts with praise? Do we think in our minds and believe with all our hearts; that Jesus, God the Father, the Holy Spirit is HERE? Then, "ACT LIKE IT!"
If you believe in all the words you speak when you say the Creed, the Our Father---then ACT LIKE IT!! There should be joy in your hearts and your face radiating God's love, and your soul proclaiming the good news of the Lord's Love for you.
"My soul does magnify the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name!"
We should be so open to the Holy Spirit as Mary was, that not only our face, but our bodies should be rejoicing for all that God has done for us!
So we go to Mass, not to be perfect in following all the rules of correct way of 'do this, i this way or that way' but with a smile on our face, joy in our hearts we raise our hands if we want to, sway to the music sung; to put it bluntly, "ACT LIKE you are standing before the throne of God!!" Let us not worry about what will others think or critize us when we do CELEBRATE Mass!!
And priests, stop going through the motions of 'celebrating' Mass, and speaking the prayers or the Gospel like it is just another Mass, a routine ritual, another daily chore to be done.
You. priest, are holding up the PRESENCE of GOD!! Then ACT LIKE IT!!! Where is that WOW look, that radiating look from your face and your actions as you proclaim "THIS IS the BODY OF CHRIST? Don't let your parishoneres hear 'blah, blah, blah," or see an Eeyore face that says: "I'm here." Mass is a celebration, not a routine chore to be done!
Just think how full our churches would be if the people saw people thrilled to go into those Church doors as if GOD IS HERE!!!
