Why are there still attacks on the Theotokos?
If you haven't, I suggest reading this article, first. Writing for the sake of the kingdom
I was trying to think of what to write about this week (my last article was pre-written, I write most of my articles down, this one was actually written before my last one). And, for some reason, “Relationship”, popped in my head.
Being 36 years old, and having never been married, I can’t really give you biblically advice on how to deal with breakups. (The Bible assumes you’ll probably marry the woman you’re with).
But, I can give practical advice from experience.
And I CAN give biblical advice on how to find a good wife or husband.

We forget, in our high-energy, fast paced, instant gratification culture, that the purpose of dating is to find a spouse.
Now that we have that in mind, we need to examine why the breakup happened to begin with. Which one of you is the Yoko Ono of the relationship? What has she/he told you? “I need some space” is my favourite. I like what comedian Jeff Foxworthy said about it only being part of a sentence. The rest is “without you in it”.
Are you compatible? I remember a girl and I that had mutual crushes on each other, and she said she wasn’t allowed to date me because of my ancestry.
1) She was a legal adult.
2) Her mother is Jewish, so if it didn’t matter to her parents, why should it matter to her?
Most people aren’t racists, so I don’t think that was the real reason.
My mother is part Jewish, but my dad still married her (I am ethnically mixed on both sides of the family).
Maybe he/she just doesn’t like you like that.
NEWSFLASH, it’s called “Falling in love” for a reason.
Or you know, you could just say this to get her to fall in love with you,
“Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold”. (Song of Songs 1:10)
If you’re in a youth group or a young adult group, try it.
You may get people laughing, if they don’t know what it’s from, but, still less creepy than calling someone “baby”.
And hey, since you’re at a church function, you could always say “bless your heart”, to people who don’t get it.
(This is actually an insult, but a polite one).
So, what does the Bible say about good women or good men?
Let’s start with the negative first (I’m a pessimist by nature).
“But whoso commiteth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroy his own soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though he givest many gifts” (Proverbs 6:32-35).
“As a jewel in a wine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion”. (Proverbs 11:22)
And now, let’s get to the more positive
“A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches. The merciful man doeth good to his own soul, but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. (Proverbs11:17)
“Who can find a virtous woman? For her price is far about rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her” (Proverbs 31:10).
