Writing without Forethought
A Thought of Glee can be God awakening our sleepy mind.
One may wonder what is that pounding that only our heart can detect? When Joseph dreamed that an angel was telling him to take his wife and child saying; :"Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you.” (Mt 2: 13). He listened and we also must hear the words that God’s angel or he Himself speaks to us.
This happens more often than many of us realize. God is always touching our minds by shaking the cobwebs off our hearts to hear and respond to his direction. Unfortunately, some ignore this interference with our day-dreams and never hear the message God is calling us to perform because worldly events seem to capture our immediate needs.
I often wonder how many souls could have been reached by one person who wiped the nudging away from their relaxed feeling and went beyond the ministry that could be theirs for God? It is no sin when any of us ignores God’s shaking us, but imagine how many times we could have reached one or more persons who are starving for a kind word from God through our accepting his voice.
The thought of how the world around us has become an empty vessel when none of us reaches out with the gifts God has enabled each one to bring the lonely back to him. My article; “The Wilderness Experience” precludes three attributes into full view of our present questioning regarding the end of the Church without Jesus Christ. The attributes are Emptiness, Loneliness, and Dryness.
With Emptiness we have discovered that too many have allowed their souls to close up being open only to the enemies of God who wants to fill that primary institution of our heart that wanes for healing. The broader element of us becoming an empty vessel that cries for fulfillment without knowing what that filling is all about has now opened itself to the tragedies of communist influence in our society.
Looking at Loneliness, the second attribute of a wilderness experience, there is a fast growing disease of falling away from holiness that isn’t just for saints, it is for those of us who need this comfort of an unseen deity who lives within each of us. What has happened to us as the evil of an attraction of hope no longer exists, and closes any way for the love from others to disappear?
A lack of rain in a desert area will corrupt the growth of vegetation and eventually provide a “death valley” scenario, The very dryness within a soul that has successfully pushed any substance of hope out of reach of a soul looking for the answer to everlasting understanding of God has erupted as a wind storm removing the divine love God has promised.
These attributes of a wilderness exists in any community or person that has lost its connection to the essence of God and are looking at a future of humanity’s total reliance on the grace God has given us, to elude our faith that presently is slipping away from each of us who have put God somewhere out of our reach.
God is still shaking our weary minds with the hope that never leaves our hearts as long as we hold onto that faith that will promote the presence of his grace within the souls of believers in Christ. This is the Wilderness that exemplifies our Experience with God’s presence that we accept.
