PRO-LIFERS GEAR UP FOR FIRST NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE IN POST-ROE SOCIETY
Summer 2024 saw some of the most anticipated events. In America, two events have given wall-to-wall headlines in the media. It would go down as a summer which the faithful of the nation will choose
One event gathered over 60,000 Catholics to help revive a treasured teaching in the church. It was an answer to the call from the Holy Father after a staggering number of Catholics didn’t believe in Jesus being truly present in the Eucharist.
The National Eucharistic Congress saw Catholics from across the nation come together in Indianapolis to renew their commitment to acknowledge the presence of Jesus in the Bless Sacrament. Those who were there were asked to go and share what they’ve experienced with everyone. The event was an experience like no other. It brought joy to the hearts of those gathered for the weeklong events that filled the streets and Luca Oil Stadium.
The other event saw the radical and satanic version of what this nation would become. In Chicago, the Democratic Party held its convention in a city with a major population of Catholics.
Sadly, it saw a grotesque and secular display of faith. It honored women who chose to murder their children with no consequence of their actions. The event claimed that it was to choose joy. Yet, they attack a falsely convicted felon who has a record of completed results with rage and no clear agenda. How can they select joy when they are filled with rage and are obsessed with attacking the Republican nominee?
There is no joy when a political party has a timid (pun intended) Vice Presidential nominee who has run away from combative duty for the Minnesota National Guard, resulting in a fellow man becoming a casualty of war in Iraq. It was this same man who groomed vulnerable teens to embrace the LGBT agenda. He even shoved his LGBTQ plan down the throated of those in his state putting children and teens in harm’s way.
The party hasn’t chosen joy when its sitting president is malicious to his citizens and constituents alike while showing signs of mental and cognitive decline that was covered up by the ex officio of his administration.
St. Augustine of Hippo wrote, “Joy is the net of love by which you can catch souls.” There can’t be joy if there is no love. That is something our political parties have lacked. There is even no love for each other or God among one party.
It had been one summer for the books. As fall approaches in a few days, the race to the White House will be in sight for VP Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.
Both of them were made in God’s image. Yet, they both need prayers just as much as our country does.
If we want to choose joy, we must first choose Jesus. He is the cause of our joy when we run to him. As we are about to reach the peak of the presidential race cycle, let’s run to the Father and ask him to help save our nation.
If joy is ever going to be chosen, let us first love one another.
