Forgiveness comes in different stages of sin.
What are the Attributes of Evil?
Evil, if left to exist and grow in the heart of man, will take over the very premise of God’s plan to bring us home to live with him. We might look for an identifiable edict that is not easily removed from our society. However, a good definition for the unwanted presence of evil is the absence of goodness. Some manners of recognizing goodness: the state of being good; moral virtue. Fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, and faith.
There is no actual human physical entity that we can apply to this nuance that invokes weakness to morality. It is the problem that does not enhance our well-being, but a discouraging presence that without God’s grace will bury the best of us.
Believing in a virtuous manner on the one hand will guide us to avoid sin, or on the other hand when an adverse manner confronts us to accept sin in its subtle way to fall through weaknesses, there is the spiritual side of the moral law that seems to stare us in the face.
Here is where identifying the trek that evil can become disguised as virtue will elude our moral thought of God and all we are expected to ascertain. Why is it we can follow the rules of morality only to be tricked into side-stepping to the lure of sin and wealth? This does not indicate we are sinful guided by evil’s intent of failure, it shows that the human psyche is easily drawn to life’s pleasures that also are part of the human make-up.
We are easily led into a vast realm of desire to find freedom from rules and mandates that seem to keep us from the pleasures in life, yet the further we drift into its attractions the further we find there is a wall left behind that cannot be circumvented
As I wrote before and others have also alluded to this same entity, being alone and in a deserted environment, even in our minds, can become the richest blessing that will open God’s presence to us. Here, with you and God where there is no obstruction to a silent encounter, we can experience the one silent sound of a voice that will speak to us.
Following the times that Jesus went into the hills to pray with his Father, we just might realize the freedom of noise that tends to overtake our sense of freedom from too many people, who mean well, but leave nothing of a dialogue with the Creator of a living soul. Contemplation is more than a quiet time with our sense of spirituality. It can be the prelude to rising to new life and finding God was always there, holding our hand and whispering peace like no other.
What are attributes to evil? Anything that blocks the Spirit of God from being present to us. We were made to love God as he loves us. His Holy Spirit is the only essence that lives within us and will be there when adversity arrives with a bag full of evil that wants to destroy our goodness. That goodness is the Light of Christ promised to his chosen at his Incarnation. Evil exists, and so does the grace of God. Reach through the desert of loneliness and find God’s voice through a peace unknown to most.
