Lent - A Reflection on its Meaning
Where once there was nothing has now become grace
If you find a spiritual void in your life perhaps it is because the reality of what is important has not yet occurred. For many the need of being filled with the Spirit of God has never been a priority and these people drift through life without finding the Lord’s presence within them.
In a world where so much is only relevant through the attraction of modern technology and the teaching of new-age philosophies. These entities that require total dedication by discarding the freedoms we once had we now by-pass their existence. For the person who adheres to this philosophy has begun to be corrupted without any semblance of faith in God and the Church.
Hollywood and the theme that so many actors have adopted has become the real enemy of what we believe about God and his teaching through Christ. What is an obvious scenario has indoctrinated many who felt it necessary to their peers that they too must follow this trap that will struggle to take away their faith in God.
Somehow, the dubious manner that some of the leaders have initiated has almost become like a cult that requires the undivided agreement by others to not dare to leave once they have accepted this new way and discovered that without God their trek may lead to disaster.
This baptism of evil has reached into the lives of many who do not understand what they are adopting until the grace of God has entered the lives of a few and they struggle to find a way out.
Of course, this is not the only cult that has corrupted many innocent people who are led to believe these leaders are posing as God or his prophets that have the final answer to all their problems. The problem is the ones who fall for this baloney have suffered serious injury and many have found death. Some of those were; David Koresh as head of the Branch Davidian in Waco Texas. Another one was Jim Jones who proclaimed himself as messiah of the Peoples Temple, a San Francisco based evangelist group. Most committed suicide when Jones determined the cult was going to fail. We know that these cults and many more were doing the work of Satan in a manner to make people think that now they have a god who cares for them unlike the norms of society that is leading them astray.
As we look around at today’s tyrannical inception from governments that are hedonistic in nature there will arise more cult leaders that lead the innocent citizens in a socialistic manner and control them just like Koresh and Jim Jones.
We must find the grace that God is blessing all of us with to circumvent these evil cultic innovations that are pulling people away from their Church and corrupting the unlearned with a new-age philosophy. Whether it is like the Branch Davidian or Jamestown with Jim Jones or the streets of New York, Chicago, and San Francisco the draw is the same. Remove God and the Church from people’s view and the result will be the loss of many souls. Our task is to seek them out and guide them back to Christ and salvation through the Cross and suffering for righteousness. This is now our task to see where once there was nothing and now we find the grace of God.
