We bless the artifacts we use for prayers and devotions to except our forgiveness
Can I also become a server for sinners?
“It is you who have stood by me in my trials; and I confer a kingdom on you, just as my Father has conferred one on me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Lk 22: 28 - 30).
Will you for a moment place yourself in the person of Christ and become a servant to those around you? Seat them at a table endowed with the finest linens, wine for the blessing, and yourself outfitted as a maitre d with all the trimmings at your hands for a banquet. There will also be other invitees sitting near you but this is the special occasion for those who are called and honored. Your task is one of giving these few the respect they somehow accepted by following your direction, suffering, giving away their lives, and carrying their crosses as a sign of obedience in the sight of the world's enemies.
As a thought you may ponder, your demeanor is one that others might admire because you were willing to stand solid with the commitment you made when you also withstood the punishment and torture unbelievers lashed out upon your weakened body that became our safety net in order to forgive you and I for our sins.
This feast in their honor was filled with the memory of you and your Father when it was promised from the beginning of humanity and you were at the very instant of creation when you knew these souls would stand before you shouting Crucify him, crucify him. (Lk 23: 21).
And yet, this is the feast you promised to these who are now relishing their forgiveness and sitting at the feast of Abraham, Issac, and Israel.
“I say to you , many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Issac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven.: (Mt 8: 11).
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me.” (Rv3: 20).
A dream of exultation and the period of complete justification that you, in the person of Christ, accepting those around the world who found through your love, a banquet prepared for them, and it never shall end.
