Hello- It is a baby!
I was feeling sad and disappointed that I could not go to a conference recently. I knew it would be wonderful. However, due to several circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to attend. In my prayer time, I shared my sadness and disappointment with Jesus. I felt in my heart of hearts that Jesus laid upon my heart these words: “I am your Retreat Master. I will provide for what you need.” I surrendered my sadness and disappointment to Jesus. I ask Jesus what His agenda for me would be as my Retreat Master?
On Friday, I celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at Saint Cyril Parish and following Mass I spent time with Jesus in adoration. I left feeling refreshed and renewed. Saturday was a gorgeous Fall Day so I took our dog for a really long, leisure walk. While walking, I prayed the Rosary breathing in the aroma of the fresh crisp Fall air.
After the walk I was motivated to work on my writing which I was struggling to get to. But with Jesus as my Retreat Master, the writing went smoothly. I finished the article and submitted it to a Catholic magazine. It was a peaceful, slow-paced day.
To finish my mini retreat with Jesus, I celebrated Mass at St. Cyril Saturday evening. The Mass was beautiful and the Homily was outstanding. I am praising Jesus my Retreat Master for showering me with his love, peace and joy. God is so good.
Sometimes God does call us to attend conferences or retreats to help us grow in our faith. But He also provides for us right in our own homes if we are open to listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Jesus truly does give us what we need not always what we want. Praise be Jesus!
Reflection:
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burdens is light.” Matthew 11:29-30.
