It is You Christ who Lifts me Up

You lift me up beyond my dreams,

You hold me close beyond my fears,

It is you who speaks to me with love,

It is Christ who carries me home.

Beyond the threat of of losing my soul,

Beyond the pain that is no more,

From the darkness of sin you freed me,

It is Christ who carries me home.

The light of peace is from your heart,

The odor of sensuous becomes my gift,

To you alone is the way forever,

It is Christ who carries me home.

You lifted me up beyond my dreams,

You Held me close without my fears,

You speak to me of peace and love,

It is you my Savior that welcomes me home.

A Poem of the only love we find through Christ. Not to be compared to the beautiful song by Reba McEntire. I wrote this from a dream, before reading the words of her lyrics.

I am an ordained deacon with the Diocese of Pittsburgh, since June 8, 1974. My current ministry is concentrated on writing spiritual reflections and poetry. I am married, with one grown daughter, and 4 grandchildren. I retired from the electrical industry after 58 years as an electrician, contractor, teacher in trade schools, and electrical inspector with a PA State license
