MY SPECIAL PLACE
You are not Alone, I will never leave you
Eileen Renders
There are those times in life for all of us, when we may feel alone, isolated, or left out of what is important to us. We have been betrayed, disappointed in someone we care about, and not sure where to turn.
For this reason, I want to take us to
The Resurrection of Jesus
New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition
Matthew 28: 18-20 Jesus said to His disciples; “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. And teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I AM with you always, to the end of the age.”
How powerful and mystical is this message? For we, you and I, must work to keep Christ’s message in perspective. For what He taught the disciples was to be continued from generation to generation, as we are all called to be disciples of the Lord. We are therefore called to be of service to God through our works, this is obedience to God. As Jesus told the first disciples, teach His people to obey everything that I have commanded of you. Understanding this powerful message affirms for us that our lives are meant to be lived in the same manner as the Twelve Apostles.
In reflection, we may wonder how this revelation works to keep us focused on His work, and not be distracted by others who have betrayed our trust or turned against us. Jesus understands our burdens, imagine how He felt when He was scourged, nailed to a heavy wooden Cross, spat at, and called names by the very creatures He created out of love.
God has provided for us through our opportunity to be saved by His Son’s sacrifice on the Cross, and to nourish us both emotionally and spiritually by telling us that the Holy Spirit will come and remain with us until the end of time. He is the Healer, the great Consoler, and we have but to go to Him and place our trust in Him. By becoming a disciple of Christ we are living as God intended, and in return, God promises us an eternity with Him in heaven when our time here on earth is through. It has all been laid out for us, God’s plan for us. All that is expected of us is to follow His Commandments. God asks us to follow His Commandments not to threaten us of a possible punishment if we disregard His Commandments, but to promise us all that we could ever imagine in gifts of His graces, such as; Peace, Joy, and Contentment.
Let us not refuse this generous offer from Christ Himself!
