A kingdom divided
Christmas lights are popping up. Blow up figures of Santa and the reindeer are sitting on lawns. TV ads are seen daily now to give us the best prices and places to shop for presents. But this is not what Christmas is all about.
Christmas is about a Virgin who accepted the call from God to be a Mother. A Mother of the Savior of the world. This family was led in poverty and resignation with a will that should be imitated by us all.
Jesus, the greatest King and Mary, the most honored Queen and dear Saint Joseph, model of All fathers, protector and humble servant of God, is our example of a true Christmas. We must remember the humility and perseverance of the truth that this beloved Holy Family gave us. Cold and tired from such a long journey, seeking shelter from the cold and for a birth, found no one willing to help but a poor proprietor of a stable. A stable that had animals living in it. A manger that they fed out of as a crib for the King.
Good St Joseph prepared all for his Holy spouse as She labored until the time to give birth. The angels, overseeing every detail and helping him in his sweet quest to make it as comfortable as he could. What his eyes and soul saw was the miracle of God Almighty. I love St Joseph! Trusting in God's word that things would work out because God said they would.
Christmas involves good cheer and family. We celebrate the greatest day in the history of the world. The day our salvation took form. The day of remembrance that God did not abandon us. Every attempt to thwart this day was attacked by evil but did not conquer, instead, it held strength thru the power of God. Being led by the angels, these, His trustworthy servants, the world now beheld God's only Son and Mother.
Send a prayer of the true meaning of Christmas when you drive by those decorations in our neighborhoods. Pray that the true meaning of "Thanksgiving and Honor" may be felt in the hearts of those that prepare for this Holy day.
"Hail! And blessed be the hour and the moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, it was at midnight in Bethlehem in the piercing cold. At that hour, vouchsafe Oh my God! To hear our prayers and grant our petitions through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ and His most Blessed Mother Mary. Amen"
