The Bible is meant to be a tool, not a weapon
This year has been rough for me with my relationship to my faith. I still believe in God and Catholicism, but rather than experiencing the community of faith that we all have at Church, I have been on my solo journey. I have done this to renew my relationship with God and come at it from different angles. This has been a private journey that I am only truly sharing now with these words. Why you might wonder have I decided to do so now? It has to do with my supervisor at work. I have a great supervisor whom I meet with weekly to go over ideas, current projects as well as the progress that both I am making and our company as a whole. Generally, we stay focused on work but briefly at times well quickly discuss a personal matter. Recently my supervisor started a serious relationship with his girlfriend. This has brought him newfound joy. Shortly after he embraced this joy, he began going to church weekly and exploring his faith in new ways. He told me this and I could see the excitement and interest that he was bringing to this new journey in his life. Reflecting on this, I decided that I too should bring that excitement back into my faith! Sometimes when we are not feeling as excited about something important to us we must simply look around to others and see the joy that it brings others. From their fire, we can let a spark fly off and rekindle our own.
