Gold Medalist Olympian Ironically Announces Support for Harris-Walz Campaign
Trump’s victory was just a hair over a week ago. Yet, he is making picks that are making opponents and even the political establishment squirm. Meanwhile, there is a pattern to consider. First, Trump will be 78 years old when he takes office for his second term on January 20th. However, he is doing his part on what he campaigned to become America’s 47th President of the United States, which was putting America first. At the same time, he is sending a clear message as to how America must move forward from political establishments by surrounding himself with millennials.
Millennials
Millennials come in between Generation X and Generation Z. As sources vary on the ages, a bulk of millennials were born between 1981 and 1996. A third of this age group made up the most in the abortion counts every year.
Economic Hardship and Challenges
This group endured many hardships, like entering the workforce during the recession of 2008 and 2009, which made it a challenge to pay off student loans and miss many life milestones like home ownership and marriage.
This age group opened the door to new challenges for the workforce with flexible work schedules, meaningful work, and work-life balance.
Tech-Savy
This age group was coming of age with many technical innovations ranging from social media, smartphones, the internet, and personal computers. These have made them comfortable with technology.
Most Educated
They make up the most educated age group. Many have pursued degrees in higher education at 38% with either a bachelor’s or higher, which is higher than Generation X at 32%.
As the transition of power is underway, it is time to take a look at those who will be leaving their posts to make way for the new administration.
Some of Biden’s top advisors were men and women over the age of 50, which makes up boomers and Generation X. There was one lone millennial in former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (Yes, the same one who failed to address the numerous disasters under his watch as Secretary of Transportation).
Now, here is a look at some of the President-elect’s millennial picks so far.
Vice President-elect JD Vance
Senator JD Vance tops the list. He will become the 50th Vice President of the United States. He will also be the first millennial elected VP and the first veteran of the United States Marine Corps to accomplish this feat. He is also a convert to Catholicism and a best-selling author.
Secretary of State- Senator Marco Rubio
Marco Rubio, first elected to the US Senate in 2010, is tabbed to become Secretary of State. In the line of succession, this position is fourth in line when the POTUS, VPOTUS, House Speaker, and President pro tempore are killed in an act of treason.
This is one of the positions that will be voted on by the senate.
Pete Hegseth- Secretary of Defense
The former Fox Host and National Guardsman from Minnesota cross off everything America wants to advance its America First Policy, right? Let’s see, he served his country proudly with the National Guard, was a best-selling author, and has seen firsthand how corrupt the military complex is. Hegseth is everything the political establishment hates about him. To top it off, he was seen with a Jerusalem Cross on his chest that removed him from a January 2021 assignment to provide security during the inauguration of fallen Catholic Joe Biden.
Rep. Matt Gaetz- Attorney General
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz could potentially become the youngest Attorney General of the United States. He is under investigation for sexual misconduct, which he denied. This will be a very contested and heated confirmation hearing as Gaetz promises to bring law and order
Tulsi Gabbard- National Intelligence
Tulsi Gabbard, a former representative from Hawaii and army veteran, left the Democratic party to help Trump defeat Vice President Kamal Harris, which she exposed during the 2020 primary. The army veteran will be tabbed to help end military interventions overseas and will ensure every American’s civil liberties are protected.
Elise Stefanik- Ambassador to the United Nations
Trump tabbed NY Rep. Elise Stefanik to become the Ambassador of the United Nations. She served in the 15th district of NY since 2015 and has been a strong ally of Trump.
With the confirmation hearings will commence in a matter of weeks, twenty-four will be voted by the US Senate. Trump still has plenty of positions to fill, with his second inauguration just 67 days away. It is going to be interesting to see whom he will tab to help advance his America First Agenda and how the Senate will decide their fate.
What is clear is Trump wants America to know that millennials are the future of American politics. The passing of the torch is imminent from one generation to another.
