Easter Poem
3 O’Clock; A time for evil or forgiveness
As he was about to take his last breath, Jesus uttered this; “It is Finished” and he bowed his head and handed over his Spirit. This occurred at 3 PM. (Jn 19: 30).
A wind of ferocity tore through the temple; “But Jesus cried out again in a loud voice, and gave up his spirit. And behold the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, rocks were split, tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many.” (Mt 27: 50 -53).
Evil perpetrated against our Lord but became the very answer from God’s timetable, and the sins of humanity were forgiven thus defeating the plan of Satan to destroy God’s Creation of man. All of this culminated at 3 PM on Good Friday.
The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy has been one manner of Christ’s answers of prayer and is offered at 3 PM daily for the restoration of faith to God. Three for the Holy Trinity and three for the hour that Jesus died. Then again, three for the three days he was in the tomb.
Three O’Clock in the morning when I was at prayer as a Night Adorer with the Sacred Heart, I heard a scream so fierce and penetrating I had to examine its source. After searching outside my house I found nothing. Upon returning to my prayers a voice in me said; three O’Clock is when the most evil occurs, the scream came from the depth of hell, and pray for the poor souls in purgatory.
An essential mandate brings us to the truth of Three with God and the very manner in which this number is significant with everything that God accomplished. Jesus, when reaching the needy, always had Peter, James, and John with him. On the mount of Transfiguration, and when he said to the girl, “Talitha cum” which means Little girl get up.
Three attributes of God: power, knowledge, and goodness. There are three important attributes pertaining to God; omnipotence (unlimited power), omniscience (knows everything), Omnipresence (to be everywhere all at once).
The three theological virtues; faith, hope, and charity. As Paul describes in (1 Cor 13: 1 - 13), Concluding; “So faith, hope, love remain, these three, but the greatest of these is love.”
Evil is found at 3 AM, but forgiveness comes through the three persons of God whose love is everlasting as seen through the Cross of Christ after dying with three hours of suffering. (Some ministers use a 6 hour period).
