THE SIMPLE APPROACH TO HEALTHY LIVING
The Glory of God, How do we Share in the glory of God?
Eileen Renders
The gospel is important to the glory of God in that it shares more about His character than any other source throughout the ages. In the Apostles Creed, we are told that Jesus will come again when the world ends, and He will come in glory.
There is much to be said about the glory of God, and it is written in many parables of the bible, including Corinthians 10:31, and Deuteronomy 10;17. There are two however I believe that stand out and I share those with you here;
Thessalonians 2:12 “We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For He called you to share in the glory of His Kingdom and glory.”
Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power for You created all things, and by Your will they existed and were created.”
Therefore, we are told that Jesus deserves all honor for He is all powerful, and created His people and the world we live in. Also, we know that God is all-knowing, He sees all and can be in many places all at the same time. We also know that God is all-loving, all-just, and all-merciful. God is perfection and all-holy.
How then will we one day share in the glory of God? We share in the glory of God by living His will and through a virtuous life.
Jude 1:25 States that God’s glory is shown through Jesus Christ. As heirs of Christ, we too will share in the glory of God.” The New Testament frequently uses the phrase to signify a manifestation of Divine Majesty, truth, goodness, or other attributes through His incarnate Son. The word incarnate describes all of His spiritual attributes in the flesh.
We as sinful beings can never be worthy of what God desires to give to us. It is given only through His love for us, His creation. To remain an heir in God's standing and to share in the glory of God, however, we are asked by Jesus Christ to follow His example, live the Commandments, and avoid sin.
Because we were born with original sin, and are sinful by nature, we cannot follow Jesus’ example without fully becoming submissive to His will. Praying to Him for courage and guidance, and protection from the Evil One!
