Death, Racism, and Immorality Displayed During Democratic National Convention
Catholics have eagerly and excitedly waited for two young men to be elevated to sainthood. The pope did hint that their canonizations will take place in 2025. Both will appeal to many young Catholics, and one will become the first millennial saint.
After approving their miracles, the pope announced that two Jubilee celebrations would occur in Rome.
The first will be for teenagers from April 25 to 27, 2025. The Diocese of Assisi has confirmed that Carlo Acutis will be canonized at 10:30 a.m. on April 27th in St. Peter’s Square.
Acutis will be the first millennial saint. He is known for his devotion to the Eucharist. He even created a website that documented every Eucharistic miracle around the world. In 2006, he died of leukemia. Yet, when he died, many family, friends, and classmates credited him for helping them be closer to their faith.
The second will be the Jubilee of Youth. This will happen from July 28th to August 3rd. Pier Giorgio Frassati’s canonization will take place during that time. His canonization will happen just a century following his death. The exact date is yet to be confirmed by the Vatican.
Frassati was known as the “man of the beatitudes.” St. John Paul the Great would describe him as “entirely immersed in the mystery of God and totally dedicated to the constant service of his neighbor.” Now, he will reach the heights of sainthood.
The youth of the church can rejoice in two holy examples of young holy men who believe that a life with God is attainable.
