Forget the promises of God and lose the eternal kingdom with him!
Freedoms that are disappearing from us!
We keep hearing about the crisis where our freedoms are slipping away from our constitutional protection that never should have occurred in our nation. Now, we have a new administration ready to ensure their stability as long as we the people stand with our chosen president and the congress that are sworn to uphold the constitution of the United States. Unfortunately there are still factions who are fighting to take down the newly elected president and the efforts he will make to ensure our place in a free America.
At one time there never was a moment when Americans would turn against our elected officials and everyone, no matter what their chosen candidates, always showed their pride to be called an American. In the Army in the 1950’s the only discussions were where we were from according to our dialect. Taking the oath as new recruits we were sworn to defend the flag of the United States which for many meant giving up their lives as a guarantee to that oath. Today, I wonder how many will even consider that premise; “who me, I won’t go somewhere to fight a war maybe losing an arm or leg and maybe my life?” The question of supporting the flag, the constitution, and the rights of all people, belong to suckers but not me, is a common cry of lazy and hedonistic people that do not adhere to the voice of millions who lie in Arlington Cemetery, those who went thinking they were patriots for a righteous nation.
In the present period there are a number of Democratic Governors and some mayors who promise to go against the Trump administration. Did we, as a nation, somehow move across the ocean to a communist regime where the leadership has removed the desire to stand for freedom and allow this Marxist attitude to replace the patriotism of stout-hearted Americans to the cowardice of weakling humans who are becoming puppets to an evil corrupt society?
Those men (actually many were still boys, including myself) were willing to take the oath, with our right hand over our heart, and promise to live up to the words we spoke before the Stars and Stripes of the United States of America. Perhaps some might say I am living in the past era of John Wayne and others who made movies, not leaving Hollywood. Perhaps that is what is missing in our modern culture. My time was during the Korean war, while those who followed were in Vietnam. November 11, 2024 we just celebrated Veterans Day. My heart lies with those of all wars who are the heroes who lost their lives for their nation. “No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends. “ (John 15: 13). How many men and women laid down their lives for you and me? Count the monuments of the remains in countless cemeteries around the world who died fighting for the rights and freedoms of the rest of us.
