Mass Migration and The Unprepared for Death
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
In our current state of affairs with our southern border wide open, we have two problems. One is mass migration and the other is illegal drugs pouring into our country. Mass migration is a problem due to the fact that our national safety net cannot handle that great an influx of people. Some of these people die in the process of the journey. We also see innocent citizens of our country being tortured, raped, and murdered by hoodlums who should be in jail in their own country of origin. They act like wild raging animals instead of civilized human beings. Children, our most precious innocent beings, are sent across our border without any family to a future that God only knows. That is horrendous. All children must be protected from all those who exploit these trusting souls.
The other part of this equation is the massive influx of drugs coming over our border. Many of our citizens take these drugs and die. They were not prepared for that outcome. We must pray that God is merciful and that these souls are not in hell. However, their lamentations in the after-life may become their own personal hell. So what can a Catholic do to ease the pain of these unfortunate souls that made a mistake? We can pray for them. There is a prayer in a pamphlet by the Padre Pio Foundation in which Our Lord dictated to Saint Gertrude. Every time that this prayer is said, one thousand souls are freed from Purgatory. The prayer is as follows:
“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in the union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my home, and within my family. Amen.”
As we all know, November is the month dedicated to the holy souls in Purgatory. For this particular month, I was inspired to recite this prayer five times daily and dedicate the merits of this prayer to people who over-dosed on drugs and died. As November comes to a close, I am now inspired to continue this practice through Advent and the entire year.
Now, I challenge you dear reader to do the same. Yes, you must pray for your family and friends. This is the purpose for thirty recitations of this prayer daily. The example that I set should be done by all especially the retired folk who are bored and have very few people in their family living on earth. Please pick a group of people that are in need of mercy such as the people who die in transit to our country and pray for them. Do not be afraid to pass this article to other people. This is a great Lenten and Advent devotion. All of us must become apostles of prayer. It is how we build a city of God.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise. Amen.
