Gettysburg Movie Review
It has been less than three weeks since the Associated Press projected a razor-thin upset in the Keystone State in favor of Dave McCormick. The state helped Donald Trump secure a second term and had the 19 electoral votes needed to help him reach 270 to win.
Two days after Trump won the state and became the 47th President of the United States, Dave McCormick defeated incumbent Bob Casey, who was first elected to the Senate in 2006 after defeating Rick Santorum.
Casey is the son of former PA Governor Bob Casey, a staunch Pro-Life Democrat. Sadly, the son of this Pro-Life Democrat would steer away from his father’s legacy. Maybe it is time for this soon-to-be former senator to be reminded of how he has steered away from what his father long stood for when he governed the Keystone State during the 1980s and paid the price during the 1992 Democratic National Convention when he was removed from the podium for his opposition to abortion.
Here is a look at what he has done and how he has smeared his father. Casey did a flip-flop on the issue of life when he took the Senate in 2007.
Opposition of Pro-Life Judges to Supreme Court
Susan B Anthony List has given Bob Casey an F in the recent confirmation hearings during the Trump and Biden administrations respectively. He voted nay three times during the confirmation of judges Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney-Barrett.
Yet, he confirmed Ketanji Brown-Jackson in June 2022 following the Dobbs decision.
Opposed Dobbs
Casey was misguided when he claimed that our daughters and granddaughters, “should not grow up with fewer rights than their mothers.” This was the banner that ultimately made him fall. Even McCormick called him out on a weak platform to campaign on for a potential fourth term. He even claimed that Dobbs would “put women’s lives at risk”.
Even Maria Gallagher from National Right to Life pointed out that Casey had “Dobbs Derangement Syndrome”. Like many pro-aborts who have displayed belligerent behavior after Dobbs, Casey too was caught in this child-like behavior when he didn’t concede the race to his opponent for two weeks despite legal recounts and state court reminding everyone of election integrity.
Well, the good news is that the Dobbs decision has harmed no women, and even abortion bans in states that have outlawed abortion, like Texas, will save 25,000 lives with the abortion ban in their state. I wonder if he ever met a woman who has survived abortion or a mother who regretted her decision to terminate her pregnancy and now advocates for the life of the vulnerable child.
Funded Planned Parenthood
Time and time again, Casey has funded the largest abortion provider in the United States. His father took the organization to the Supreme Court and lost. The son has flopped on the issue that his father crusaded on.
He repeatedly advocated for them to receive funding, yet he even supported the Hyde Amendment. What is everyone missing?
As Casey’s days become few, we can only hope and pray that he will repent of his passive behavior toward the unborn and traditional marriage.
Pro-Life voters can celebrate this victory. Now, it is time to suit up for the next battles to continue unseating public officials who continue to support the murder of innocent babies.
Whether one is a voter in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, or even Arizona, the voices of the unborn were heard on election night. It is now time to ensure that pro-life politicians are held accountable to help build a culture of life from womb to tomb.
