A son and his dad with fish to find

Poles in hand walking side by side

Bonding moments a dad’s pride

So like Peter and Andrew the brothers

Fishers of the great sea along with many others

Yet our Savior He had a reason

To choose these two this fishing season

For His goal was to make them fishers of man

Andrew and his brother Peter renamed later by Jesus Simon

Jesus chose them over thousands

Uneducated blue collar maybe at times scoundrels

Yet these two along with ten more

Would rise to the challenge and open the door

A door to help build Christ’s Church

Not up in Heaven but right here on earth

May we too become fishermen

The type who offer Amen

Not those looking only for fish

For then they might end up not where they wish

Amen
