The Essence of God; Through Christ his Son Jesus Christ
Belief in the Word of God has become a question for too many!
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church we read: “Voluntary doubt about the faith disregards or refuses to hold as true what God has revealed and the Church proposes for belief. Involuntary doubt refers to hesitation in believing, difficulty in overcoming objections connected with the faith, or also anxiety aroused by its obscurity. If deliberately cultivated doubt can lead to spiritual blindness.” (Footnote to CCC 2088).
It seems that we are living in a society that leans more in a coherent attitude that God no longer cares about humanity or has definitely left his creatures to mend for themselves. Both are erroneous since if God was to leave us alone he never would have created the apple of his eye as in sending Christ through the Incarnation to save us. Through that divine interference in man’s sins God has proven he cares beyond any doubt we could muster up.
Yet, in a world that is leaning more towards nuclear war the virtue of faith must become a perfect manner to find thatGod never lost his love for mankind. If humanity would just lean more on the principles God intended for all generations, and was cultivated by Christ’s Passion to retrieve what was lost ( For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost - Lk 19: 10), he never would have moved the heavens to clear the way for our redemption.
There are multitudes of Christian preachers, including the Church as well, speaking out against the falling away of people from their faith and makes us wonder what Christian belief in Christ will be like in just a few years. We shall not contend that there are many years ahead for mankind and no need to be concerned about the future. “It's all in the hands of God, just wait and see” some will say. What once was a call for faith has now become a head in the sand expression allowing the world to pass us by and then we can look at what we have become.
What the Risen Christ handed on to his disciples just before he ascended back to heaven was not just a good-by see you later farewell. Listen carefully to his commissioning: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt 28: 19 -20).
These few words demand that all of us who live the faith must be sure to pass on a desire to assure those who doubt that God’s word shall never disappear from the earth as long as believers are still here. Once the Rapture that will precede the Tribulation people who are lifted away from the earth will avoid the devastation awaiting any who are left. Until that begins, please use your baptismal gifts to try and convince the many who are living a spiritual blindness.
