We Are Not Promised Another Tomorrow
The Peace of Christ be with you
Eileen Renders
In attempting to find peace, we must be free of guilt and shame, anxiety, or feelings of unworthiness. We must become at peace within ourselves before we can be at peace with others. In contemplating how we can attain this level of inner peace, we might look at our Savior and note that He is perfect, without sin, and blameless for our sin as we used our free will in turning away from Him to sin.
In choosing to live an honest life, one that serves our creator, and by practicing avoidance of sin, we are choosing to live as God showed us by His example on earth, and through His Commandments.
This feeling of inner peace is often passed on to others who sense that we are following God’s lead. And thus, may be passed on to others. When following God's Commandments, we not only acquire a sense of inner peace but are also blessed with God’s graces such as; joy, wisdom, tolerance, and more.
Moreover, we are a living example to our children and other young people in our lives, and this is indeed an example of evangelizing. We are becoming one of God’s disciples. We were created to teach, to love, and to share. And in so doing, we might bring souls closer to God. This is an example of a meaningful life.
Moreover, we are inspired and motivated by God through our loyalty and diligence. And we are inspired further to want more, to long for an eternity with Christ. Imagine a time that lasts forever without pain, fear, sadness, or any type of negativity that we may have once experienced on earth.
Because we are not saints and were born with the original sin of our parents, we can only grow spiritually through persistent prayer, and carry our cross without self-pity until God speaks to our hearts acknowledging we are one of His.
