His Name is John

His Name is John

The lineage of their tribe

A son his name it did prescribe

But for Zachariah and Elizabeth this would not be

Their son John is he

His name in Hebrew means Yahweh is gracious

And for the Baptist this is not just fortuitous

For he truly went forth to proclaim

That Emmanuel is now here to make His claim

That claim is for His Church andHis children

Us yes we who if we obey and listen

Will become part of His Vine

Grafted on we too will become choice wine

We will get to live forever in Heaven

For we are God’s children

Along withJohn the Baptist Mary and Jesus

With the Angels and their singing so glorious

Amen
