To the Ends of the Earth: Witness – Week 2, Day 1 – As Fathers, Our Foundation is God Alone
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 3:14–19
Christ cannot live on the outskirts of our lives. He is the truest brother who sets the perfect example we are to follow. He must be the center of all we are, and that includes our relationships with our brothers. As we root our lives in him, we grow in his perfect love, the love that is beyond our human understanding. When Jesus is our all in all, we experience the fullness of our Christian life and are set free to love our brothers with the same perfect love with which he has loved us.
We must focus our whole lives on the journey to heaven. Together with our brothers, we must take up our cross and follow in the steps of our Savior, seeking his example and his power, and moving ever forward in faith. The more we seek God’s fullness and strive to live as he has called us, the more we are strengthened and united to our brothers. Together we become who we were meant to be, building one another up and discovering the wonder of our Catholic life in Christ.
