The Presentation

After the days of purification

Our Lord Jesus was offered to His Father

Two turtle doves for this occasion

Is what His parents did offer

As a poor family monetarily

But rich in all spirituality

The law proclaimed the offering

And from Simeon to Mary a blessing

Joseph and Mary now truly knew

What their yes to the Angel would lead them too

One day in the future a mother’s heart broken by an action of love

Jesus’ death and resurrection prescribed from Above

What can we present and offer to God our Father everyday

For He only asks for our obedience and to do all His way

Giving of ourselves to Him is truly what is required

And to gain full entrance to Heaven this we must do before we have expired
