Not Fit

I saw man in the water

Dunking people some scared and some with laughter

I ventured closer

So I could see and hear better

For I was flummoxed and did not understand

There was a long line from the river way up upon the land

The people there before entering were undressing

What is this what are they doing

As I got closer my ears were fed

Baptizing is what this naked hairy and bearded man said

And then suddenly he stopped looked up along the bank and shouted

He yelled out that One greater was coming soon he by Him would be ousted

For He is the one that should be baptizing

For His will be a baptism by the Holy Spirit living

And I John am not fit

To even touch the sandals upon His Feet
