How Lucky

How lucky we are

We live in a time where nothing is far

Very little is the time we have to wait

No wonder the lack of patience seems so great

If we look back to the year thirty anno domini or AD

When Christ began to appear to many

As John described in his Gospel

Jesus began to pick Apostles from among the people

The next three years a whirlwind for the Israelites and Gentiles

Everything upended in their lives

By this Man Jesus who came to prophecies

The Messiah who some thought a Devil in disguise

Jesus they crucified

And He died

He also resurrected from the dead

Some became joyful some had pure dread

He promised He would return

He told nobody when

He told us to have patience and to pray

For He will return to this earth someday

Maybe our society today

Needs a virtue check in every way

We need to learn to have patience

Learn scripture and common sense

For our eternity depends on this

That must be our desire and wish

To always what our Lord requires

And thus we avoid Hell’s awful fires

Amen
