The Magi

Today we celebrate an arrival

By the kings from afar

They who are in search of a great friend not a a newborn rival

Their path to behold Him was by a star

They brought to Him this newborn King

Great gifts of gold frankincense and myrrh

They came to homage Him whom to the Angels sing

Amazed and honored their hearts were astir

They met with Herod prior to coming

For the Star had led them

To a the town close to our Lords birthing

It was the town called Bethlehem

Herod wanted to eradicate the Boy

Jesus the Son of the Most High

So Angels warned the kings dreamily

And they went another way at their goodbye

We too should want to always homage and offer

To our Lord Jesus who saved us from eternal death

All praise and glory and honor

Until on this earth we breathe our last breath

Amen
