Turning Away

Saint John wrote about love

He also spoke about offending the Lord above

By our sinning is this done

And it affects us and sometimes everyone

Most sin is not deadly

The penance is pointed but not very heavy

Than there is what’s known as deadly sin

Horrific it is do not let this one in

Mortal sin is its other known name

Mortal sin don’t do it’s your life not a game

For it is physically turning away from our Heavenly Father

Telling Him that you think evil is better

This is the only way the Evil One can touch you

When you ask and I plead you don’t want to

For the Devil only brings an eternity of pain and sadness

Don’t go down this path making your life now worthless

Turn to prayer and doing our Lord’s Will

He knows you’ll mess up and be a pill

But asking for His help love and forgiveness

Will gain you an eternity of love and happiness
