The 7 sorrows of Mary
My Sweet Annie has two particular attributes. One, is her keen sense of smell. Smelling all things before she partakes in their touch or taste. The other is her desire to wear "clacky" shoes. Even as little as 3 years old, that precious girl would stand for none other than a shoe that could be heard on any floor as she walked. She would be so cute as we went to pick out new shoes, looking at me, strutting around the department store floor telling me " they don't clack!" Going through pair after pair of shoes, she would finally agree to those shiny clacky shoes that she deemed perfect. I didn't mind. All sweet girls need pretty dresses and bows for their hair and "clacky" shoes.
She has continued her love for shoes to this day. Some clacky, some not. But those "clacky" ones still dominate the closet.
I write about this because I compare the "clacky" shoes to hearts and souls that want to be heard. Our prayers clack the floor of heaven, letting God know we are coming to Him. The echo resounds all the way to the feet of the one who created us with all of our own personal attributes that He gave us at our creation.
My Annie has grown into such a beautiful young woman with a loving family and home. The ups and downs that approach a household, or life for anyone, must be learned and dealt with only by the surrender to God. She is progressing in this "new attribute" beautifully, and I praise God for that blessing.
Whatever the attribute you have, may it be used for the Honor and Glory of God, even if it is something as simple as "some clacky shoes".
