Prayer for Pornographers

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Prayer for Pornographers

Lord,

have mercy on those caught in the grip

of the sexual immorality of pornography

especially those who produce these materials

guide them to a safer place

where they can understand the harm done

by the evil that is there

bring them to the knowledge

of Your beauty in each of them

lead them to an understanding of

sex as an expression of Your love

rather than a simple means of pleasure

help them to understand

the destruction of their souls

and the souls of those around them

instill in them the knowledge

that this is only a thing of this world

corrupt by itself

offer them Your forgiveness

your compassion

and Your love

each one must know

that this sin,

as all others

has been purchased for their salvation

teach them that the value of their lives

is more than the sum of their bodies

that they hold in each one

a soul worthy of heaven

turn each one

into a voice against this evil

and a new member of the chorus

that sings of Your glory
