Lying isn't wise
Did you ever wonder to yourself, “why do some people do things that are clearly evil”? And then you go to the Bible, and come across verses like this, “Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests, and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him”. (Matthew 26:14-16).
There are people that bash Pope Francis, because they'll get clicks. I am convinced of this.
Before we get started, be sure to read my previous article, here; Why you should have multiple versions of The Bible, and please check out my latest on Locals (and if you're part of my community, I want to hear from you)!, What do y'all want to see on Locals?
These people do NOT evangelize. But, why do they do it?
Well, here's the thing. Why do people lie about “Nazis in Ukraine”? (and yes, lie, as it's often intentional,Truth matters)? Why do we say abortion is about “women's health” Christians need to go against the culture, not with it ? Why are we afraid to speak out against the sinfulness of contraceptives? Why are we okay with people telling us there are 5,628 genders?
Because, the truth is, many of us have exchanged God's love for money, for fame, for popularity, for acceptance.
We have our own 30 pieces of silver. Many of us will never acknowledge being wrong. We mistake pride for righteousness.
And that very same pride, could very well be what leads us to hell.
Don't be like Judas Iscariot. Don't trade the love of Christ for money, which will perish.
So, the answer to the question is this, Judas Iscariot did what he did...because he got paid.
