Jesus is there
Try not to look ahead too far. Recognize the moment you are in more. Tomorrow is not assured. But the moment you are standing in, is. Notice I say the moment. The instance, the situation you are facing, whether it be driving, walking, or praying. No matter what or where you find the moment is that you're in, at that very moment is the one that counts.
Everyone, I'm sure, plans for retirement. Building up money and good health to enjoy that retirement. But truth be told, we just don't know what the future brings. So why not give this moment to God. In all the richness that that moment can give.
It is all very well to have a plan. But sometimes those plans don't follow through. Disasters, accidents and sickness are all unpredictable. We don't know what God has planned for us, so we should stop and give the moment to Him.
I'm not one of those who desires to look into my future. I don't really know how I would take the landscape. I pray I will surrender to God anything He sends me, with the security of His promise to never leave me or give me more than I could handle. Looking too far ahead makes expectations. What about the unexpected? It's two time costly to even think about! We must be prepared in our soul first. Are we ready to face any trial that is sent to us? That is what one of my fervent prayers is.
"Oh Lord, let me live in this Holy moment that you have given me. Help me to use every minute You have granted me with Thanksgiving and strength to carry on till you call me home. In your wisdom, guide me in this moment. Following you blindly, only guided by the touch of your holy hand."
