Time and Eternity - How God Sees It
The Right To Life – Part 1
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
Our Declaration of Independence states that we have the right to life and it is a God-given right. On January 24, 2025, we witnessed the March for Life in Washington, DC. Newly elected President Donald Trump freed twenty-three people unjustly imprisoned by the Biden Administration Justice Department in connection with the subject of abortion. Vice President J.D. Vance gave a stirring speech calling for the respect for the life of the unborn. Thankfully, we now have courageous leaders who put the American people first, and decry the ideology of wokeness.
Abortion is a horrible crime inflicted on the most vulnerable innocent human beings of our society. It is incumbent on all citizens of this nation and the world to avoid this heinous act. We have all heard of the Partial Birth Abortion that is the murder of a child about to be born. Let us not stop there. Any abortion at any time during a pregnancy is a moral evil. Catholic charities should be creating more Crisis Pregnancy Centers so that these children can be born alive and if need be given to loving adoptive parents.
Recently, two topics crossed my desk on the subject of abortion. One is called the “Morning After Pill”. It removes the child from the mother and is flushed down the toilet. Since when is the city sewer or private septic tank an acceptable burial place for a human being? Where are the consciences of people today? Remember, life begins a conception not at birth.
The second topic is that since President Trump was re-elected President, certain governors of “blue” states are stocking up on these pills. They fear the discontinuation of these pills. They do this in the name of “Reproductive Rights”. This is just another code phrase for childhood murder. Some governors that are stocking these pills are Roman Catholics. It is incumbent on the entire hierarchy of the Catholic Church to preach against this moral depravity and to counsel these politicians to stop this heinous act. It is also incumbent on the laity of the Church to vote pro-life and to say prayers that this act be stopped. The Hail Mary, Mary’s miraculous prayer of which I wrote a past article on that subject, comes to mind. After all, who would understand a woman’s pregnancy better than Mary, the Mother of God? Part two of this article will deal with mass migration.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise.
