"Transitioning" Kids

As I wrote last month:

Confusion has been festering with regard to Catholic Medical Ethics. I pray that the Holy Father will use the 33rd World Day of the Sick to clearly and forcefully proclaim the following:

Hormonal contraception must be excluded in the treatment of sexual assault; it is likely working as an abortifacient.
Reference #167 of the New Charter for Healthcare workers seems erroneous as Section 30 of Dignitas Personae appeared to preclude using “Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells.”
The Church has not unequivocally accepted brain death criteria.
It is impossible to change a person's sex. Efforts to encourage or make such changes are forbidden (Catholic365, 1/9/25)

In this Catholic's opinion, it is tragic that Pope Francis' message for the 33rd World Day of the Sick 2025 did not address any of those areas. Ironically, someone else did indeed address the fourth bullet point:

Following President Donald Trump’s executive order protecting children from irreversible gender procedures, hospitals across the country have started canceling appointments or ceasing their transgender programs for children (DailyWire, 2/3/25).

Much remain to be sure that there is a true and permanent end to these horrific practices. Shame on any Catholic hospital that has allowed such and any bishop who "looked away."
