Oh, how we have evolved
Some may call it deja vu. Where you smell a smell or see a scene in your mind, making you feel like you've done that before or are visiting your past. I call it sweet fond memories. Oh! how I love it when that happens! A sweet smell from the past, the smell of a baby after their bath, the aroma of a favorite perfume, the starry night on a favorite vacation.... The feeling of yesterday.
Recalling my childhood, there are so many smells and scenes that come to my senses. All of which bring a warm smile to my heart. The smell of Vicks and feeling of my dear father rubbing it in on our feet whenever we had a cold. The scenario of 4th of July's or Christmases surrounded by such love. The sound of children playing tag,, catching a firefly on a warm Summer's night with only the Street lamp to light our way. Oh! how I cherish each and every yesterday that was provided by our sweet God.
Moving me always on towards my tomorrow's. Helping me recall all of the good things and Good times our Lord provided for me with these treasured memories. Oh may I never forget them or take them for granted. We played and sang and ran about with the innocence of the times, unaware of anything bad that was happening in the world. Nowadays, our poor children and grandchildren are made quite aware of the awfulness people and the he world keeps slamming their little brains with.
Let's provide a good world for them. It will never be perfect, but the good can outweigh the bad. We must, with guidance of God, seek this for them. He is ready to hand us these opportunities. He is willing. We just have to ask and pray for His guidance. He wants good things for us. Good memories, good yesterday's, today's and tomorrow's. All things are possible with God.
Let's give Him our"today's", so that the "yesterdays" can be rich and fulfilling as we head closer to that great "tomorrow". Heaven.
