Real Life 'Jonah' Gets Swallowed by a Whale! (video)

"Did you see it. It swallowed me!' - the kayaker said moments later...

A real life 'Jonah' gets swallowed by a giant humpback whale off the coast of Chili and it was captued on film. 

If you remember, Jonah is the central figure of the Book of Jonah and one of the minor prophets. Jonah was at first reluctant to deliver bad news (the judgment of God) to the city of Nineveh. After he is swallowed by a large sea creature and then released, he has a renewal of heart and returns to the divine mission.

He is a type of Christ in that he is in the belly of a great beast for three days before he is spit out and then carry's out a mission from God. This points to the three days that Christ was in the tomb before being raised from the dead. 

In the book of Jonah 1:17, it says, 'Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.'

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. He said:

“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry. You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers swept over me. I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight...But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit. When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’ And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land." Jonah 2:1-10 

Instead of three days in the whale, this man was in the whale for about three seconds. So far there has been no mention of whether or not this man was running away from a divine mission like Jonah. But one thing's for sure he, any many others, now believe that the Jonah story is plausible.
