Vatican II, the Jewish Diaspora, and our Minor Apostasy | Prophecy of Apocalypse

A spiritual historicist Catholic interpretation of Apocalypse 11 and the two witnesses .

For futurists, the two witnesses are literally Enoch and Elijah, who will come back from heaven and literally preach during the times of antichrist, literally spewing fire from their mouths, calling down rain, and so forth.

For preterists, the two witnesses are Peter and Paul, the beginning of Church history.

But whab about something far more grand?  Expanding the near whole of Church histrory till now, with the two witnesses not two literal men, but rather figurative essences, such as, perhaps, the two great forms of the Word of God, first Oral, then Written, or Scripture and Tradtion, the two great wellsprings from which the Church draws her timeless and infallbile truths that have "witnessed" to the teachings of Our Lord and Savior down trough all the ages of its doctrinal development until now?  Let us consider such a possible way to interpret the sacred text in this marner:

The first argument is that we view the holy city is the literal Jerusalem which Christ said would be trampled by Gentiles till fullness of Gentiles is attained.

42 months and 1260 days are effectively the same time, since they are both exactly 3 and 1/2 Jewish years, each year being exactly 360 days, or 12 complete Jewish months each month always 30 days. Moreover, and biblical theology 3 and 1/2 always symbolizes great imperfection, since it is half of seven which is perfection in the Bible.

 And so the two separate phases or events, both of which are times of great stress per the 3 and ½ referenced above, the one being the trampling of the Holy city by the gentiles, and the second one being the preaching of the two witnesses, indicates that both of these phases are occurring simultaneously and end at the same time.

When we interpret the holy city literally as jerusalem, and we see the two witnessesa figuratively in a Catholic way as the two great fountains of truth from which the church draws her teachings, which could be say the oral word of God and the written word of god, or the scriptures and the tradition, then two great profundities emerge.

The witness of the two Prophets can effectively be the church illuminating the world through her teachings across the first great phase of church history that lasts during the Jewish diaspora, which is the same from when the Jews were kicked out of Jerusalem until they would repossess it much later in history., namely around our modern time.

The notion that if anyone would attack the two witnesses the same harm comes upon them back, really is apropos in terms of the spiritual.

Attacking the two witnesses spiritually would be refusing to accept their teachings and believing in false teachings.

When one does this , spiritual harm, comes upon the person in the very same manner of their error, just as the text declares that if any man will harm him, then in this manner must be harmed.

The Wonder of this first implies that , when Jerusalem is no longer trampled by the gentiles, the church would effectively be wrapping on her first great phase of doctrinal development, since , as a text says, they have finished their preaching.

In the immediate aftermath of this as well it states that a beast comes up and murders the two witnesses and they lie dead in the streets and no one has the respect to bury them.

Amazingly three great pivotal events occurred like this in the late 1960s.

Firstly, in the midst of the 1960s, the Catholic Church held one of the greatest ecumenical councils of her history, Vatican II, which did not define any new dogmas but wrapped up 2,000 years of doctrinal development and represented it to the world in a positive manner, so as to call humanity to the gospel as good news and not as something to be despised or negative.

Hence and they completed their preaching.

And in 1967 June 6th, the Holy Land, I mean Jerusalem, was recaptured by the Jews ,no longer being trampled by the gentiles, through the 6-day war of Israel.

And immediately after these events in roughly the late 60s, the minor apostasy descended upon the West with the sexual revolution , which began the entire dissolution of morality in Western civilization, leading to a great loss of faith and a pathetic moral destruction of society.

During this period over roughly the last generation of our time, the world has lost all respect for the church, and considers her practically dead , no longer relevant to the world, her morals out of date, her dogmas not relevant to the world's well-being, that humanity can do better without her with its mere scientific and materialistic wonders and accomplishments, and that it can ignore all morals , even the natural law, and get away with it in all senses.

Hence , the wild beast kills the two witnesses and the habitants of the Earth celebrate that these two witnesses are dead and that they are no longer tortured by the sackcloth and ashes.

And they do not give them a proper burial.

But after the short period of godlessness, the breath of Life enters into the two witnesses and they stand up on their feet.

This can image the coming chastisement, which is going to bring humanity to their knees and cause them to fear God again.

Finally by Our Lady of fatima, we know the world is going to come back to the Catholic church and there will be peace and all Christians will become one again,

This can be symbolized by the two witnesses who are caught up to heaven when it is said come up here!
