The First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea
There are three languages which are holy: Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. Many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek [jn. xix. 19-20]." These, at the time, were the languages amongst (many) of the people in Judea. These languages are holy because they were on the cross of our Lord Jesus. Ths cross is holy, and the cross is an aggregate, constitued of the nails, the wood, the inscription, and so on. therefore, the three different languages on the holy sign are holy as the sign. Furthermore, there are three holy languages, as in three holy persons in God. The languages are different respects in the faith: Hebrew is the Old Coveneant and the Old Testament of holy scripture (for the OT is in Hebrew); Greek is the language of which the New Testament of holy scrpiture is written, meaning it is the language of the New Covenant itself as well. The language of where the Peter (i.e., the pope) is is Latin, Latin coming from the Latium region of Italia and Rome being in Latium. The pope being the Peter (rock) of the Church, makes him the highest authority on earth, thus Latin is made holy by Rome and Rome holy by the Peter. Conclusion: Hebrew is the Old Covenant, Greek is the New Covenant, and Latin is the one, holy, universal, and apostolic Church.
