How not to evangelize (unhelpful evangelization)
You know, I can't always remember what I've written about and what I haven't. I know I've written about Ecclesiastes before, but, I was just thinking; I hadn't done an article about finding God in secular culture for a while. But, I think I may have even shared the song I'm going to mention. Anyway, because of my dad (God rest his soul, his earthly birthday is actually the day after this goes live), some of the bands I know, I know from him (he was born in 1952, it would mean so much if you'd read this article about him, Thank you, Dad. Anyway, but, The Birds have a song about Ecclesiastes. In fact, I think I may have already shared this song, in this article; A time to laugh. (Just read it, I did not, let's rectify that in this one! The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is A Season) (Audio)
Before we go any further, be sure to read my previous article, How older versions of the Bible can help with FRENCH GRAMMAR?
But, this isn't officially going to be one of my articles about finding God in secular culture. Maybe think of it as a spin off.
I want to talk about death. What a cheery subject!
I'm only going to use a few verses.
“A time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance”. ( Ecclesiastes 3:2-4).
And, that's just it. Life has its ups and downs. I was acquainted with death at a very early age. My father died when I was nine years old. But, I also know that “to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
I laugh, I mourn, I dance.
