The Six Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima and the Huge Difference This Makes in Our Lives
Woman Path to Holiness: Choosing the Right Battles
I once asked a very devout Catholic to share her secret to peace and spiritual success.
She smiled and said to me:
"I began growing in grace when I started leaving small fights to those who find joy in them."
- I stopped arguing with those who gossiped about me and instead prayed for them.
- I stopped harboring resentment toward my in-laws and embraced humility and patience.
- I stopped seeking attention and instead sought to please God alone.
- I stopped trying to meet the world’s expectations and focused on fulfilling God’s will.
- I stopped insisting on my rights in petty disputes and entrusted everything to Divine Providence.
"I left those fights for those who have nothing else to fight for. Instead, I began to fight for:"
- A life of prayer and the Sacraments
- The salvation of my soul and the souls of others
- My mission to serve God and my neighbor
- My eternal destiny in Heaven
The day I surrendered small battles to the Lord and focused on the greater spiritual fight,
I found true peace, success, and holiness.
Some battles are distractions.
Choose to fight for what truly matters—your faith, your virtue, and your salvation.
"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers… against the spirits of wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)
Let us put on the armor of God—prayer, humility, forgiveness, and the Sacraments—
for these are our true weapons in the battle for Heaven.
