A Perspective on the Parables
Will we ever find an impetus to peace in this world?
If there are only two people and an incident arises between them to which one will a likely decision be made that both will agree upon? Adam and Eve had such a problem but since Satan chose the woman to tempt her the husband agreed on her decision. Perhaps it was his thought to keep peace that he also fell into sin with her. (Gn 3: 1 ff).
Take more than one household disagreeing on a land dispute with a neighbor, and it cannot find a common solution without a surveyor’s documents. How often there can become an intense war of words and sometimes vicious anger. Look at the world situations where one nation's greed can become a World War such as WWII. Peaceful solutions usually end up with thousands of dead heroes being buried on the battlefield.
Most times when more than a few communities or nations have disputes there never is a good consensus as to who is right. The righteousness of which is correct can develop into a never-ending battle that may never bring peace to the opposing factions.
What a good solution would be if more than one person or group could have the same outlook and are able to conclude on a common solution we could in fact find a peaceful solution to at least one issue. However, how often will the same persons or groups find the same answers on every other incident that will allow all of them to agree on everything? They then would have to be physiologically connected to agree or become puppets and follow the command of a puppeteer.
We were not created in that fashion and each one was given a free will at our creation. With a free will God ensured each of us that the decision to choose him would belong to each one of us alone. There is one entity where more than one person is in full agreement with other persons, and that is the Holy Trinity. He is one God consisting of three persons. These persons are one God with one mind and one divinity. To prove this, look at Genesis when God said “Let US make man in our image, after OUR likeness. (Gn 1: 26). All three persons were in agreement since they are a ONE God. Each person has the same mind since he is God.
There is one way to find this peace that seems to allude man and that is to put our faith in the one who came to bring us away from the treachery of selfishness and humanoid attractions of me alone. It is found on the Cross of Christ and the Blood that he shed for sinners.
All sinners were the authors of Christ’s Passion:
In her Magisterial teaching of the faith and in the witness of her saints, the Church has never forgotten that sinners were the authors and the ministers of all the sufferings that the divine Redeemer endured. Taking into account the fact that our sins affect Christ himself, the Church does not hesitate to impute to Christians the gravest responsibility for the torments inflicted upon Jesus, a responsibility with which they have all too often burdened the Jews alone:
(CCC 598)..
We must regard as guilty all those who continue to relapse into their sins. Since our sins made the Lord Christ suffer the torment of the cross, those who plunge themselves into disorders and crimes crucify the Son of God anew in their hearts (for he is in them) and hold him up to contempt. And it can be seen that our crime in this case is greater in us than in the Jews. As for them, according to the witness of the Apostle, none of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified theLord of Glory. We, however, profess to know him. And when we deny him by our deeds, we in some way seem to lay violent hands on him. (Roman Catechism 391).
