God Cannot Not forgiveGod Cannot Not Forgive!
A Contradiction to be attuned to is the inability to change a reality of what is truth. Of all the attributes regarding God, contradiction is one that he cannot do. That falls under the term of making changes mid-stream. The one time he regretted it was when Noah built an altar to the Lord, and choosing from every clean animal and every clean bird, he offered holocausts on the altar. (Gn 8: 20). In other areas of scripture we can see the image of the innocent perfect lamb that is Jesus’ sacrifice of dying for our sins.
When the Lord smelled the sweet odor, he said to himself: “Never again will I doom the earth because of man, since the desires of man’s heart are evil from the start, nor will I ever again strike down all loving beings, as I have done.” (Gn 8: 21).
However, we need to discern this iota of forgiveness where it brings a sustenance of truth to the forefront of hatred and revenge. I had a daydream where I was waiting for the final call of my soul being taken and saw in a blind vision a number of people that I knew completely and they were at the door to heaven. They could not get in because tied to their pride were the moments of unforgiveness that they would not give up. I cried because they all knew what they held against others whom they were incensed over. These would not find God because of their free will.
In the Beatitudes Jesus is emphatic regarding forgiveness: “If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, brother will your heavenly Father forgive your transgressions. (Mt 6: 14).
How does God feel about those souls who place themselves in hell? First we need to look at how he felt when he created humanity. “God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good.” (Gn 1: 31). Obviously God was pleased with humanity even as he created us knowing how we would disappoint his trust in us. Nevertheless, God knew how he would forgive man for his rejection of the Trinity. There is no doubt that since God was pleased with his creation of man he would never shun them even those who would choose to place themselves in hell. If God has emotions in a spiritual way, he would then cry over those whom he couldn’t forgive because they would refuse his mercy. He never will condemn any souls who chose to adopt the evil of sin and hold it dearly. It can be compared to a parent who would want to take the place of their child who even commits murder. That type of love is a permanent bond between mother and father with that child. It is no different with God and all of us, his children.
Read the Hound of Heaven and see how the Lord will follow the lost child who constantly gets lost and like the Good Shepherd will return with that lost sheep on his shoulders. There is no effort too difficult that God uses to go after you and I and bring us back home.
