A Tree Known by Its Fruit.

   Our Gospel this Sunday, March 2, 2025, was from Luke 6. It was the last few verses that spoke strongly to my heart! Words I truly needed to hear and so do you!
   For a week, God had been digging deep to set me free from compulsive eating for comfort. I also had notice my anger flaring up more as aging was taking it toll on my body. I was angry at myself, for the weight gained in past two year was the root cause of the arithic pain and joint deterioration. I felt deeply out of stress, anger and hate over my human weakness: My body's condition was all my fault!
   For this reason, God in His love, sent a necessary dream that helped me realize that even back to the womb, the time of birth and the years that followed---my body, mind and spirit was hurt by other's weak human nature. The sins of Adam, the imperfect behavior of parents passed down--ALL of this led to my own post childhood behaviors as i grew into 'God's masterpiece'. We are all on the potters wheel and every part of the process was carefully under the works of God's hands. He was there for every tear we shed and every time we exhibited the feelings of anger, frustration and depression from all the memories of our past. As Psalm 139 tells us
"3 You sift through my travels and my rest; with all my ways you are familiar.
4Even before a word is on my tongue, LORD, you know it all."
    God was there and He knew and understood the 'whys' of all that we do.  So it was, that the reading from Luke this Sunday was God's way of speaking to my heart and setting me free at last from the past.
Luke 6- vs 43-45.
43“A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.  (Eat daily from the Word of God-and not the fruit from the 'screen/media)
45 A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

   Beloved---we must speak only GOOD WORDS  to all in our life. 

   What are 'good fruits? Are we daily producing these fruits from the roots of Jesse's stem?
Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
I know daily, I try to speak only 'good words' to all who come into my life. Including my husband--most of the time. 
Yes, sometime self-control hangs too long on the tree---but we keep on trying to walk faithfully with our God. We are children of God, Jesus is our Brother and we are rooted and grounded into the family 'tree' of God. Please be at peace, and no longer hate the person you are. The past did take a heavy toll on us--but God knows how to heal, fix and reshape our brokeness, making us whole again.
WE are the bread, like Jesus, who is blessed, broken, so that we may be given to help others be healed too with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. 'Wisdom comes from all of our life, Understanding and Knowledge of what all of the 'family of God' is dealing with in this life on earth. Peace be with you, now and always.
