To the Ends of the Earth: Character – Week 3, Day 3 - Discipline Surrenders to God's Pruning
The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed, he is girded with strength.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
Psalm 93:1–2
Thanks be to God that his love lifts us above the flood of worldly madness that crashes upon us. We may fail time and time again, but God will seek us out and draw us once again into his perfect, eternal plan. In his constancy, he settles us on a firm foundation that can never be moved. His word stands forever. God is never swayed by circumstances or public pressure, nor does he alter his purposes to suit the whims of culture. His holy laws bear witness to his everlasting love for his people. As we become caught up in the eternal, unchanging God, we find the power we need to speak truth and act in love as we reach out to those who are lost.
Nothing we have done and nothing we will ever do can change God’s love for us. Because of Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary, we are blessed with abundant, eternal, and perfect grace. This means we have the strength, the power, and the wisdom to share the Gospel with our words and deeds, and draw the lost into the family of faith.
