The END TIMES - 2024 and 2025 as prophesied by Saint Padre Pio
Are you leaving the Light on?
Eileen Renders
The title of this article reminds me of the song, “I will leave the light on.” It echoes love and concern for another. We have all been blessed through Baptism with the Light of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is with us and abides in us to influence us in a spiritual and, therefore, positive way. The Holy Spirit is not the Father, nor the Son, but is individual in and of Himself. Yet, as we have been taught, it is part of the three persons in One God.
The Holy Spirit sheds Light on us and into our souls that we may see clearer what is right and what is wrong when we are making choices and decisions. The Holy Spirit works to save us from sin and teaches us through holy grace as God wants us all to share His word in the for of teaching and to share with love what has been shared with us.
Therefore, we are urged to carry the Light, to be the Light when someone is lost and trying to find their way back to God. Many may wonder, how can we become a Light in serving Christ? The answer to that question has hundreds of answers. To mention a few;
Through Art, paintings of peace
Through songs of praise, especially if you have been gifted with the ability to sing or play an instrument
Writing or Speaking is a form of evangelization
Driving your elderly neighbor to a doctor’s appointment
Taking out and returning trash cans to their rightful place for a disabled neighbor
Picking up groceries at the Supermarket for an elderly neighbor or family member
Visiting Nursing Homes to visit with those who have no family
Having a Mass said for an ill family member
Rosaries for those who have fallen from God’s grace
Shoveling the next-door neighbor’s pavement in inclement weather
Inviting an adult to Thanksgiving dinner to your home, someone who lives alone and has few visitors.
This list is endless; simply use your imagination and share your talents. All the scenarios listed are acts of love. It is good to remember what Jesus said: “Truly, what you do for the least of My brethren, you do unto Me.”
