Temptations

Tempted was Jesus by the Devil and taunted

Yet strong He remained completely undaunted

Forty days and nights in the desert would He spend

To His Father His attention would never end

How do we handle those thoughts and strong feelings

Those acts we shouldn’t do those Devilish musings

Do we call to our Father His Son or Spirit

Or do we just give in to sin and do it

Our salvation depends on becoming strong

Learning how to avoid evil’s awful throng

Prayer and meditating on scripture daily

Is a wonderful and resourceful remedy

Not only creating a barrier to evil

But diminishing and silencing Satan the devil

Trusting always in your Lord and Savior

Is the only way to avoid tempting behavior

So daily pray often morn noon and eve

Ask for help and to receive

The ability to cope with society’s secularity

And to learn to trust in your Lord and His Spirituality
