Speak Lord, your servant is listening
What would we do without love? To think this is the first and most Holiest Commandment of our God, who is total Love.
The love I feel for my dear children and the people that surround me is as comforting to me as a warm blanket on a cold and wintery day. It warms my soul. It soothes me to the bone. Love, it's a good thing.
My children are such sweet gifts from Heaven and I am so grateful. Then, to top it off, to have all of my little flowers of Grandchildren to look into my eyes and tell me they love me with the innocence of their pure hearts. I am blessed.
Love is a commandment. We take into account daily that there are so many ways to love. The Gospel reads, "whosoever you did it for, you did unto me." Looking at people like they are Jesus helps us fulfill this Commandment. Sometimes difficult, when people can be so cruel. But in remembering that there probably is some kind of a void, which usually ends up being a lack of Jesus in their lives. It helps us forgive and give them the love they need. Love conquers all things. Even a cold heart. Even a stubborn heart. Even a despairing heart.
Love is our salvation. Remembering that God is all love and mercy we shall succeed in a world that is darkened by hate. Love illuminates little by little until the darkness is overcome and light is all we feel and see. Love, it's a good thing.
